ART IN CHARCOAL: I began drawing when I was stationed at a Navy pre-commissioning unit in the state of Maine. While my ship was being built, there were many lonely and boring hours indoors due to the weather. Coming from Southern California I was not too enthusiastic about snow and cold. I decided to draw in order to keep busy during my off duty hours. Below are posted a few of my earlier work along with work I completed in 2006. Since then, I've taken up oil painting but occasionally I do break out the charcoal. David |
